Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has advised Nigerian students to explore opportunities abroad after graduation, citing the country’s current challenges.
Obi made this statement non Sunday while donating to two institutions in Anambra State: Peter University in Achina/Onneh and the School of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu.
During his address at the College of Nursing Sciences, Obi emphasized his commitment to supporting institutions that foster skill, professionalism, and character.
“I have always told the Nursing Council not to restrict you people from travelling abroad after graduation. If it is not going to work for you here, go to where it will work for you,” he said.
Obi reassured the students that if Nigeria is fixed, those who have migrated abroad will return.
“We will not advise anyone to stay where it is difficult for them. If you want to seek greener pastures outside, please go. I’m sure that when we build a greater Nigeria, you will come back.”
Earlier, at Peter University, Obi encouraged students to prioritize their studies, highlighting education as a transformative power for national development.
He also stressed the importance of academic excellence, noting that investing in education is investing in the future.
